Our Mission: Social Consciousness
Way Too Cool Arts and Science Institute is greatly interested in helping the least fortunate citizens. The institute itself has developed many activities and tasks that will help challenged members of the community to become self-sufficient to the furthest extent possible. Curriculum for the mobility impaired includes glass tile assembly, feather gluing, wood sanding, and other simple jobs. For the elderly citizens who have no means of supporting themselves, our Agricultural Master will teach workshops about the care and harvest of organic herbs and spices which can then be specialty packaged for the tourism market. Papermaking is a project we have designed specifically for the mentally handicapped. These are but a few of the special ways we can help the challenged help themselves.
Each student will also be shown innumerable ways they can help in their community. Such activities include the preparation and distribution of meals for the infirm, handicapped, and elderly, organizing seashore and neighborhood clean-ups, and construction of public trash receptacles. We hold that socially conscious action on even a small basis can lead to tremendous change. Our students and graduates can begin this societal change upon graduation.
