About Way Too Cool!
Video Production

The purpose of this course is to teach video production skills that the successful graduate could use to produce quality documentaries, instructional videos, event videographies (birthdays, weddings, concerts, corporate meetings), commercials, and public service announcements.

Openings: 3 to 5 students
Duration: 2 Semesters
Requirements: basic computer skills, English verbal skills, team oriented
Skills Taught:

  • pre-production planning
  • video camera operation: in-field and studio
  • audio recording: in-field and studio
  • basic lighting
  • Non-linear audio/video editing
  • content distribution

Semester 1
During the first semester, students will learn how to work together in a team environment to create short videos for Internet sites. This will include all pre-production planning, correct equipment usage and care, and post-production editing. Numerous public service announcements and short videos will give beginning filmmakers the experiential learning needed to do advance projects in the second semester.

Semester 2
Students will continue to expand their content creation abilities through advanced techniques such as adding visual effects. Students who excel in this program will get the chance to work on a feature-length documentary for Way Too Cool.
